Susan Atwood

Shelburne

Susan J. Atwood passed away on March 23, 2024 at the Arbors in Shelburne.  Sue was born on Oct. 26, 1939, the daughter of Fred and Agatha Atwood. and lived most of her life in Colchester, Vermont, graduating from Mount St. Mary’s Academy in Burlington.    Sue furthered her education at Champlain and Trinity College.

Sue was a devout Catholic which gave her strength and comfort throughout her life.  It is especially sad that Sue died during her favorite time of year, March Madness. She loved women’s basketball most of all.  Sue was also a long-time member of the Colchester Community Choir.

Sue is survived by her sister Patricia, and brother in law, Wesley, (Sonny) Manning of Williston as well as her sister Jacqueline Zeno of Burlington, in addition to nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Sue was preceded in death by her parents, brother Don Atwood, sister Nancy Houde, and brothers-in law, Ernest Robert, Roy Zeno, and Gerard Houde.

The family would like to thank the many neighbors and friends who supported Sue in her last years.   Special thanks to Lori Dowe-Moore for over 20 years of friendship, support and loving care

A Funeral Mass at Our Lady Of Grace Church, 784 Main Street, Colchester, VT will be held on May 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  with burial immediately following. Arrangements are under the care of the Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Milton.
