Stephanie Hruby, a beloved mother, wife, daughter, and sister, passed away on July 7, 2025, after bravely battling a hard fight against Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs), a rare form of cancer. Born on March 23, 1980, in Burlington, Vermont, Stephanie's warmth and spirit resonated with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A graduate of Colchester High School, Stephanie went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Vermont. Her career as a physical therapist spanned many years, with significant contributions starting at Excel Physical Therapy in Milton and concluding her professional journey at Sports and Fitness Edge in Essex. In addition to her role as a therapist, she was also a nutritionist, and certified wellness coach who dedicated herself to helping others achieve their best lives.
Stephanie's personality was a beautiful blend of strength and tenderness. Known as a fierce fighter, the “sassy stubborn Steph” brought laughter and love into the lives of those around her. She was a loving mother who took immense pride in her two daughters, Payton and Paige Hruby. They were not only her proudest accomplishments but also the joys that filled her heart each day.
In her leisure time, Stephanie reveled in the simple pleasures of life—she adored “glamping” in Burton Island and found bliss during her time at the ocean in Hampton Beach, especially enjoying sweet ice cream and a good donut by the sea. She embraced running half marathons, often alongside the waves and sand of her favorite beach, Steph had a relentless spirit and passion for life.
Stephanie is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart of 22 years, Ron Hruby, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She continues to watch over her devoted daughters, Payton and Paige, along with her loving parents, Kathy and Jeff Ohler. Her sister Jennifer May and her husband Chris cherish her memory deeply.
Stephanie's legacy is one of love, resilience, and warmth—a testament to a life lived with purpose and joy. A visitation in her honor will be held at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton, Vermont on August 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
She will be missed dearly but remembered lovingly by all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Igniting Hope for a NET Cancer Free Future online here
