Sandra Holbrook, a longtime and cherished member of the Milton community, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the Green Mountain Nursing Home. Born on December 26, 1941, Sandra lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep love for her family. One of her greatest joys was being a mother. She shared an exceptionally close bond with her son, and those who knew them often described them as the very best mother-and-son pair. Sandra took immense pride in him and treasured her role as his mother above all else.
Sandra devoted 32 years of service as a dispatcher to the Vermont State Troopers where she is known as one of the founding members of the historical society as well as her time with the Milton Police Department. Throughout her career, she was known for her professionalism, compassion, and steady presence, earning the respect and gratitude of colleagues and community members alike.
She was an avid sports fan who loved following the Red Sox, Giants, and Patriots. Sandra enjoyed bowling at local alleys and found great joy in providing swimming lessons from her home, sharing her love of the water with generations of children. Summers were especially meaningful to her, spent on her front porch swing or at Lake Willoughby, where she made many treasured memories with family and friends. Cooking was another passion, and she expressed her love by caring for others through her baked goods.
Sandra was predeceased by her beloved son, Gary Holbrook.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tamra Holbrook; her grandson, Jamie Holbrook, his wife, and son; her granddaughter, Kayla Witt, her husband, and their two sons.
Sandra’s warmth, devotion to her family, and years of dedicated public service will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
