Ruth Joyce Way

May 22, 1948 — January 19, 2024

Enosburg Falls

Ruth Joyce Way, a kind and loving individual whose life revolved around the dairy farm, has passed away at the age of 75. Born on May 22, 1948, in the serene town of New Haven, Vermont to Theodore Richardson and Sarah Smith. Ruth embraced the values of hard work and dedication from a young age.

Ruth's undeniable passion for farming led her to spend most of her life working on the dairy farm. The cows were like family to her, and she took pride in providing care and love to these gentle creatures. Her commitment to the farm was unwavering, instilled in her by generations before her.

Beyond her role on the farm, Ruth had many hobbies that brought joy to her life. She was a skilled knitter and crocheter, using her nimble fingers to create beautiful works of art. But above all else, Ruth cherished spending time with her family. She was a volunteer 4-H leader and member in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties Her grand children held a special place in her heart, and she relished every moment shared with them.

On January 19, 2024, Ruth Joyce Way peacefully passed away at Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans surrounded by loved ones. Her departure has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew and adored her.

Ruth will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. She is survived by her partner Claude Brodeur; her loving children Timothy Way and his wife Linda, Joyce Godbout and her husband Edward of New York, as well as Janice Way of New York. Ruth also leaves behind sisters Edith Sears of New Haven and Sarah "June" Way of South Burlington, her five grandchildren, Mark, Julicia and her husband Kyle, Joshua, Becca and her husband Larry, and Dustin, and three great grand daughters Liley, Blaykeley and Audrey, and many nieces and nephews.

In this time of grief, we find solace in the fond memories we shared with Ruth. She will forever remain in our hearts as a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many. May her kind and caring spirit serve as a beacon of love and inspiration for generations to come.

Ruth joins her siblings John, Frederick, Adelbert, Henry, Theodore, Doris and Timothy Richardson, and May Squire  who surely welcomed her into eternity with open arms. As we bid farewell to Ruth Joyce Way, let us celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the impact she made on our lives.
