Ruth Tuthill, born Ruth Sawyer on May 2, 1929, in Falmouth, Maine, bid her final goodbye on May 8, 2024, at Greensboro Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ruth began her career at Ben Franklin Department Store before taking on the role of a teller at the Lamoille County Bank. Her dedication and hard work were evident throughout her professional life.
One of the fondest memories cherished by Ruth was living with Lisa and Bill Lamb for over twenty years. Their bond was a testament to the strength of friendship and companionship.
In her free time, Ruth enjoyed exploring new places with Barb as part of the 251 Club and discovering the beauty of Vermont covered bridges, and going to lawn sales. Her travels took her to destinations like Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and Atlantic City. She found joy in playing bingo and trying her luck at slot machines. A particular highlight for Ruth was visiting Disney World and receiving a never-ending hug from Donald Duck. She enjoyed the holidays with her extended family Jamie Dubie and family, Kristi McKnight and family and William Lamb, IV.
Ruth Tuthill is survived by her children Susan Bourdeau (Michael), Bill Tuthill (Carma Stark), Barry Tuthill, Barbara Wood (Thomas), Anne Mullings (Ray Gilcris), Kathy LaRocque (Kevin), and Lisa Lamb (Bill). She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her son-in-law Gary Ingalls and her dear friend Ann Slayton. She had a special bond with her grandson Jason Tuthill. She will be dearly missed by her cat Fred.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest "Bud" Tuthill Sr., children Clifton "Butch" Tuthill, Marcia Ingalls, Ruth Smith, Ernie Tuthill, and sister Mary Manning.
Ruth's compassionate spirit and warm smile touched the lives of many. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
May she rest in peace knowing that she was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of being a part of her life.
