Ronald Hubert

Ronald Hubert born on August 28, 1952, affectionately known as Ron, Dad and Papa, passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2026 with his beloved wife Clare by his side.

Ron was a devoted husband to his wife Clare for more than 55 years. Together they owned and operated the Middle Road Market in Milton for over 30 years. It was truly a labor of love, and one they both cherished. Ron’s favorite part of being a store owner was greeting the early morning coffee crew and mentoring the many employees who became part of the Middle Road family over the years.

Ron had a lifelong passion for serving others. He proudly served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, an experience that reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment to his community. Whether coaching softball, helping establish Milton’s first football team, or volunteering throughout the community, he believed that meaningful change came through community service. His dedication led him to serve on numerous local boards and commissions. From 2009-2017 he proudly represented Chittenden District 9-10 in the Vermont House of Representatives, where he worked tirelessly on behalf of the residents of Milton.

He was predeceased by his father Richard Hubert, his mother Ethel Hubert, Sister in law Shirley Hubert.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his adoring family, his brothers Lawrence and Alvin Hubert as well as his niece, nephews, cousins and countless friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Above all else, Ron was a loving and dedicated family man. Together with Clare, he raised their three daughters; Laurie Juskiewicz (Mark), Lesley Edquid (Fred) and Lisa Austin (Scott). He spent countless hours coaching his daughters in softball, cheering from the sidelines at soccer, field hockey and cheerleading events, affectionately known as the best cheer dad. Ron supported his daughters in every stage of their lives. As they grew in adulthood, his unwavering encouragement never faded. Ron was the heart of his family, bringing everyone together with his love, wisdom, and his steady presence.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy, Kristyn, Lauryn, Cameron, Noah, Alex, Reagan, Brinley, Bryce and Everett. He loved each of them deeply and treasured every moment they shared together.

Ron was also an avid golfer who found great happiness on the golf course and shared this passion with family and friends. In retirement, he especially enjoyed golf outings with his friends and trips to South Carolina with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished by all.

Services will be held at Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton, on Friday, July 31, 2026 with visiting hours from 3:00-5:00pm and a service immediately to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milton Rescue in Ron’s memory.
