Robert "Bob" Trayah

Robert “Bob” Orin Trayah, 74, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 14, 1950, to Moses and Gladys Trayah and spent much of his life in Milton, Vermont.

On July 16, 1983, Bob married his soulmate, Margret “Maggie” (née Relyea), at St. Joseph’s Church in Burlington, Vermont. Together they took countless trips to the beaches of York and Wells, Maine, often camping out of the camper towed behind their motorcycle.

Bob worked at General Electric for many years. Before that, he attended the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), though his studies were unfortunately cut short. His time at the CIA helped shape him into the gifted cook he became. He later worked as a chef at the former Country Pantry in Fairfax. Bob was also an active and proud member of the local Eagles Club and the Milton Horseshoe Club, where he formed many lasting friendships.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Maggie Trayah; his children, Mariah and Randy Trayah; his sisters, June (Jason) Baillargeon and Shari (Greg) Talcott; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Monty and Pippa.

He was predeceased by his parents, Moses and Gladys Trayah; his son, Randy Trayah; and his brothers, Gary and James Trayah.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all who supported Bob throughout his life, especially Dr. Mark Pitcher, his physician for over 40 years, and the dedicated staff at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. They are also deeply grateful to his wonderful neighbors, Diana and Eric Langlois, and their son, Colin, for their constant kindness and support.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
