Priscilla "Peggy" Sweeney

October 13, 1924 — December 10, 2025

Priscilla “Peggy” Sweeney, 101, of Colchester, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025. She was born on October 13, 1924, in Winooski, Vermont, the daughter of Eutrope and Marie [Giguere] Niquette.

Peggy was known throughout her life as a hardworking and determined woman who rarely shied away from a challenge. She spent many years employed at General Electric, where she worked as a solderer on circuitry used in defense manufacturing. She took great pride in her work during a time when such roles demanded patience, precision, and resilience.

Peggy married the love of her life, Frank Sweeney, on September 17, 1949, in Winooski. Together, they built a life grounded in devotion, teamwork, and quiet strength. They shared a deep love of the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing, gardening, and attending mass every Sunday at Our Lady of Grace Parish.

Side by side, they faced whatever came their way, including building a camp with their own hands by lantern light and later converting it into a year-round home.

Peggy is survived by her beloved daughter, Janet (Kevin) Brooks, and her grandson, Matthew Brooks.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Frank Sweeney.

Visiting hours and a mass of Christian Burial were held on December 18, 2025. A committal service will be held in the spring of 2026, with details to be announced at a later date.
