Patricia Rose Kirby

March 16, 1941 — June 16, 2023

Milton

Patricia “Pat” Rose Kirby, aged 82, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend went to be with her Lord on Friday June 16, 2023. She died peacefully with her husband Paul at her side.

Patricia was born on March 16, 1941, to the late Howard and Loretta Beaupre of Milton, VT. Soon after graduating high school, Patricia met her future husband, Paul, while walking with Marilyn and Jerilyn on Middle Road in Milton.  They were married on November 26, 1960. Pat was the love of Paul’s life for nearly 63 years. Pat was mother to three children, grandmother to six grandsons, and great grandmother to three great grandsons. She adored her family.

After marriage, Pat worked as a Bank Teller at the Howard Bank in Burlington until she began her lifelong career of providing care for her family and household. Pat also acted as Paul’s personal accountant for Paul’s building contractor business. Pat continued this role until her youngest was in high school. It was then that she began her 18-year career as a Marketing Consultant at the Buyer’s Digest. Pat enjoyed her retirement by doing lots of traveling with Paul in their RV, trips to the Divi Divi in Aruba, a spectacular trip to Alaska, and doting on her beloved grandsons.

Pat’s support to her family was felt by all. Her three children always knew that Mom was at their sporting events. No one cheered on their kids more (or louder) than she did! This was carried on to her grandsons as well. Grandma was always their biggest supporter. She always made sure they received special treats on any holiday.

Pat’s labors of love were her vegetable and flower gardens. Her large vegetable garden always produced vegetables to last the family through the winter months. Harvesting the garden was always a family chore! Pat was an incredible cook and baker. Pies, pin wheels, cookies, fudge, whoopie pies are a few of the amazing treats that she provided to her family. Her jams, jellies, and pickles were something her family always looked forward to. Pat’s perennial gardens were nothing short of extraordinary. She worked tirelessly in them, and it showed. She will always be remembered for her amazing gardening skills.

Pat was an avid snowmobiler. She and Paul spent winters cruising the VAST trails throughout Vermont. It was a family affair when the kids were younger, going on many snowmobile “ride-ins” together. As their children grew up and left the home, Pat and Paul continued their love of snowmobiling together. They made many memories snowmobiling from their camps in North Wolcott and Eden, VT. Their gravestone is a testament for their love of the sport.

Pat was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, The Groovy Lunch Bunch of Arrowhead Senior Center in Milton, and Arrowhead Seniors. She was very active volunteering at St. Ann, and she spent many happy hours at the Milton Senior Center. She loved her Wednesday Groovy Lunch Bunch crew!

Pat is survived by her husband Paul, her son, Jason, and her daughters Karen (Glenn) and Debbie, her grandsons Maxx (Avery), Mark, Shayne (Jenny), Bryan (Kaitlin), Anthony, and Zachary, and her great grandsons Finley, Hudson, and Nolan, her sisters Sandra Williams, Nancy Littlefield, and Mary Boutin, and her brother Howard and his wife Flora Beaupre, many nieces and nephews, and many good friends. Pat is predeceased by her parents and her sisters Norma Packard and Lauretta Baker.

We would like to thank Mom’s personal caregivers Laura, Deidre, Willie, and Lisa. We cannot thank you enough for your constant care, compassion, and love for Pat. You are family to us. We would also like to thank Sandra and Julie from the UVM Home Health Hospice team. Your care and compassion for Pat and our entire family was felt immeasurably. You were both incredible in helping us navigate this very emotional process.
