Owen Matthew Perry, of Milton, Vermont, passed away on September 17, 2026, at the age of 24. He was born on May 20, 2002 in Burlington, Vermont.
Owen was known to be the life of every party. His boat, “The Admiral” or “S.S. Minnow” was either full of friends and family out on Lake Champlain or he had a few of the boys with him fishing. No matter what he was doing, he was surrounded by his family and friends. Come Fall, he enjoyed water fowl and deer hunting. Every November he went to Upton, Maine with his dad, brother, and close friend to spend a week enjoying each other’s company and walking the woods. Owen also enjoyed maple sugaring and was always the one to make sure the sugar shack was crowded and would stay up until the early morning to boil as much sap as possible. If Owen wasn’t hunting, fishing, or sugaring he was working on a project in the garage. You could always find him working on a variety of boats, trucks, four wheelers, and so much more. Owen was a very hard-working individual. He worked for Carl Penske of Grand Isle starting in March of 2020.
Owen has expanded his friend group so much over the years. A group that once started as his cousins and Milton High School friends has spilled over into Colchester, St. Albans, and even further as his presence drew in people. He was known as the person to make friends with anyone he came across. He always had a positive energy about him and he could light up an entire room. Owen knew how to enjoy every aspect of life and wouldn’t let much get him down. He will be remembered for his contagious joy, caring nature, and we know his friends and family will continue his fun-loving legacy.
He leaves behind a family who loves him deeply: his mother Talina Perry, his father Bryant Perry, his brother Noah Perry, and his sister Ava Perry and their respective significant others Olivia Petrie and Nick Rogers. He is also survived by his uncles and their spouses Troy & Carole Hibbard, Todd Perry, Adam & Michelle Norton, and Jason Gilligan, his aunts and their spouses, Stacey & Eric Audette, Tonya & Phil Bidwell, Trinda Hibbard & Jason Shappy, Holly Haggerty, and Kristy Perry, his paternal grandmother Yvette Gilligan and her husband, Ger, and his paternal grandfather Ted Perry, and his wife, Michelle. Not only is he survived by immediate family, but also many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lanny and Diane Hibbard.
There are truly no words for a loss like this. Unimaginable doesn’t even begin to describe it. He was truly one of the best. He had a way of bringing warmth into every room he walked into. He was always the first to offer a hug, and that simple gesture meant more than words could ever express. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Owen will be missed beyond measure and his memory will remain with us forever. Owen, you are deeply loved and always will be.
