Norman W Dupee

 Burlington--Norman Dupee, 96, formerly of Winooski, passed away peacefully April 21, 2023, at UVM Medical Center. 
 Norman was born on February 7, 1927, in Chazy, NY, the son of Frank Dupee and Lillian (Wells). 
 He married Catherine Savoy on December 31, 1962, in Milton and they remained husband and wife for 45 years, until Catherine's passing in 2008. 
Early in life he hitchhiked across Northeast and Southern US, picking up miscellaneous jobs along the way. Norman worked in the janitorial department in the public school system for most of his working life and retired at the age of 80 from the Colchester School District. 
Norman was known for his funny goofy personality and always joking around. He had a love for country music, bingo and playing cards, specifically rummy. He enjoyed watching the Golden Girls and loved Betty White. Later in life he enjoyed doing word searches.  
 He is survived by his caretaker and niece Andrea Lammly and husband Christopher; nieces, Sandra Shepard and husband Bob, and Maxine Sweeney; nephew, Wayne Trayah and wife Lucy; several great nieces and nephews; and a very special great great nephew Richard Bushey II.  
 He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Lillian Dupee; his wife, Catherine Dupee; two brothers; and five sisters. 
A committal service will take place, Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 10:30am at the St Ann Cemetery.
