Nora Palker passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on April 13, 2026, in Morrisville, Vermont. She was born on September 8, 1927, in Dublin, Ireland. Nora’s life was defined by her deep commitment to care and service, guided by the enduring values she held close throughout her life.

After earning her degree in Ireland, Nora pursued a career as a registered nurse in the United States. She was known for her unwavering kindness, compassion, and tireless work ethic. Her dedication to her profession touched countless lives and reflected her remarkable strength and empathy.

Nora was the beloved wife of the late Peter Palker. They met and married in Ireland on April 19, 1955, while Peter was stationed there with the Navy. Together, they built a life grounded in love and family.

She is survived by her children: Dawn, Guy, Sean, Boyd, Brian, and Phillip, along with their spouses, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nora was a devoted and nurturing mother whose love and guidance were a constant source of strength and comfort.

She was the daughter of William Diggins and Sarah Collins, both of whom preceded her in death. Nora was also predeceased by her brothers, Anthony (Tony) Diggins and Edward (Eddie) Diggins. She carried her Irish heritage with pride, embodying the warmth, resilience, and spirit of her homeland throughout her life.

Nora’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered with deep respect and affection for her dedication as a nurse, her devotion to her family, her strong faith, and her cherished role within her community.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Manor, her hospice team, and her many friends for their kindness and support.

A celebration of Nora’s life will be held this summer to honor her memory.
