Michael (Mike) T. Ross, a devoted husband, accomplished engineer, and avid golfer, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024 in Colchester, VT, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 16, 1962 in Greenville, NY to LeRoy and Mae (Benedetto) Ross.

During his remarkable 35-year engineering career, Mike made significant contributions at IBM, Global Foundries, Avera, and Marvell, achieving multiple patents. His passion for problem solving stood out from his days at Greenville High School to earning a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from RIT in 1986. Mike always took great pride in doing things the right way, whether he was building a deck, fixing a faucet, or solving an engineering problem. Mike found joy in the simple pleasures of life, which he shared with his beloved wife of 33 years, Darlene. He enjoyed taking long walks with the canine family members he and Darlene had over the years, Admiral and Kasper. Mike’s free time was often spent working around the house, playing golf at Champlain Country Club, and socializing with close friends and family. Mike enjoyed winter activities as well, including skiing, snowmobiling, or just sitting in front of a warm fire and watching it snow. Mike and Darlene shared a passion for golf and took many memorable golf vacations. While their favorite spot was Myrtle Beach, they also took trips to the US Open, the Masters, and famous courses including Pebble Beach and TPC Sawgrass.

In addition to his wife Darlene, Mike is survived by his family, who meant the world to him. Mike leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter for his surviving family members: sisters Darlene Kinn (Brian), Jacqueline O'Halloran (Martin Brand), his mother-in-law Jo Ann Miles, sister-in-law Donna Haug, nephews John Kinn, Michael Kinn (Rachel), Daniel Kinn (Miranda), Garry O'Halloran (Laura), and niece Kristin Schwendimann (Eric). He is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his mother Mae, father Roy, father-in-law Ed Miles, brother-in-law Bill Haug, and nephew Jeffrey Kinn.

Mike Ross will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his quick wit, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. May his spirit continue to inspire us all to embrace each day with joy and gratitude.

A graveside service will be held at Greenville Rural Cemetery in Greenville, NY on July 19th at 11am. Arrangements for the service will be handled by A.J. Cunningham Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Champlain Country Club in Swanton, VT at a later date.
