Michael Dailey, a cherished father, brother, and friend, left us on January 20, 2026, at his home after a brief illness. Born on November 29, 1954, in the quaint town of Bennington, Vermont, Michael was a genuine soul who infused every moment with joy, laughter, and love.

As Vice President of the family business until its sale, Michael was deeply rooted in a legacy built on hard work and dedication. However, his journey didn’t end there. He embraced new adventures, first “unretiring” to own the KOA campground in Cooperstown, New York, where he created many treasured memories for families and friends alike. Later, he continued to bring his enthusiasm and expertise to Noel J. Brunell & Son, Inc., where his commitment never wavered.

Michael was not just a man of work; he was a storyteller whose charisma brought people together. With a personality that lit up the room, he had an extraordinary gift for making friends out of strangers. He was known for his great sense of humor, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. His family fondly recalls his love for cooking and the delightful “dinner photos” he would take, whether it was a gourmet meal or a spontaneous gathering. A lover of the outdoors, Michael enjoyed spending time boating on the ocean on his boat, aptly named "Making Memories".

With a culinary flair that even included whipping up Filet Mignon for his dogs, Michael's love for food was a reflection of his generous spirit. He treated each moment, each meal, and each gathering with utmost care and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Michael leaves behind his beloved children, Daniel Dailey, Kelly Hoot, and Cassie Kilbride and her husband Kevin, and their mother and former spouse, Ann Dailey, his former spouse, Gail DeGioia and his step children Jesse DeGioia and Brett DeGioia. His children will carry on his legacy of warmth and kindness. He is also survived by his siblings, Kevin Dailey and his wife Mary, Donna Barton and her husband Kirk, and Tim Dailey and his wife Nancy, as well as his seven adoring grandchildren who will surely cherish the memories crafted through his love and laughter. His loyal dog, Verado, remains a testament to Michael's love for companionship.

He is predeceased by his parents, Donald Dailey and Maggie Kimball, and his brother, Dennis Dailey, along with his beloved dog, Skipper.

Michael Dailey will be deeply missed, not only for his incredible stories and infectious laughter but for the love he poured into every relationship he nurtured. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, friendship, and family love that will echo through the lives of all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held in the summer months with the better weather.
