Marlene "Dolly" Shappy

Grand Isle, VT - Heaven gained another angel on May 12th, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer at the home of her daughter & son-in-law in Isle LaMotte, VT with her loving family by her side. Affectionately known as Dolly to her family and friends, she was born on May 2nd, 1938 in Burlington, VT to Preston and Elaine (Terry) Dubuque. Together with Ronald Shappy Sr., she had two children. Her family was the light of her life and spending time with them was her greatest joy. She was the cherished and devoted Ma to Joan & Steve Peters and Ronald Shappy Jr. & Sandra. Nana to Jim, Holly (Shane), Jamie (Chris) and Austin (Melissa). Great Nana to Brianna, Taylor, Autumn, Chesney, Gracie, Isaiah, Carter and Harper. Great Great Nana to Rhysand. Dolly was predeceased by her parents and her brother Preston. We are extremely grateful to our family, friends, and the healthcare team for all your love and support. "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal" In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the UVM Home Health and Hospice in Colchester and C.I.D.E.R or Camp-Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero. Visiting hours will be held at Minor Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Grand Isle Wednesday, May 18th, 2022, at 11:00am with interment to follow service at the Grand Isle Cemetery. Out of an abundance of caution, masks are kindly requested and strongly encouraged.
