Marjorie Evelyn Shepard

Marjorie Evelyn Shepard, 99, of Essex Jct, passed away July 1 at home with her family by her side. Marjorie was born on January 6, 1923 in St. Albans, VT, the daughter of Joseph Benjamin Way and Stella Mae Way(Wright). She was married to the late Richard Clarence Shepard (Honey Bunny) for 60 years, she was predeceased by him in 2016. Marjorie was employed at IBM for much of her working life holding several different positions from administrative assistant to a purchaser in the buying department. She was known to many as a shrewd business person acquiring apartment buildings, renovating, renting, and ensuring her families future security. She is survived by her son, Todd Shepard and wife Joyce of Milton; her grandchildren, Samantha Shepard, Christopher Shepard (Rebecca Forsell), Joy LaFountain, Gordon LaFountain Jr. (Jenna) all of Milton, Kristen Frazier Bauer (TJ) of Texas; her great-grandchildren Riley, Alexis, Carson, Emma, and Noah; and daughter Michelle Vanderbuilt (Doug) of Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. She was predeceased by her brother Marvin Way. Per Marjorie's request there will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8th, 11 am at First Congregational Church in Essex. The committal will be held following the funeral service at St Albans Bay in St. Albans. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an animal shelter or Humane Society of your choice.
