Marion Leakey

Marion Larmay, Kirby, Leakey passed away on September 27, 2026.

She was born at home on July 4, 1937, to Raymond and Doris Larmay.

She had many professions in her life. She was most proud of her jobs working in the nurse’s aide field and later co-owner of Sanderson drapery shop. Later in life, she enjoyed her time as a foster grandparent. She loved crafting, jigsaw puzzles, ice cream and “her stories” as she called them.

She married her former husband Bruce Kirby while he was stationed in San Diego during his service in the navy. She later married John Leakey, and they made their home in south hero. Later she moved to Bayview crossings.

She is survived by her sister Beverly Goodale (Gary); her three children, Susan Kirby Haselton (Stan), Deboraha Kirby, David Kirby (Heather); 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 cousin, several nephews and a niece.

She was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Doris, her first husband Bruce, last husband John (Jack) and her brother, Robert.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Jennifer Gilwee for her many years of loving care, Dr. Kerry Boyle, CIDER including Debbie, “Mo” and Bob, McClure Miller Respite House- especially Alyssa, who cared for Marion in her last hours, and the many folks that helped her during her final years.

Visiting hours will take place on Wednesday, September 30 from 5-7PM, at Minor Funeral Home in Milton, VT. There will be a mass on Thursday, October 1 at 11am, in Saint Rose of Lima Church with a burial to follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington, VT.
