Margaret Ann Crowley

December 28, 1941 — August 22, 2025

Adams

Margaret Ann Crowley, a radiant spirit and beloved soul, left this world on August 22, 2025, in Adams, MA, at the age of 83. Born on December 28, 1941, in Shelburne, Margaret lived a life rich in love, compassion, and purpose, touching the hearts of all who knew her.

In her early career, Margaret and her late husband, Arnold Dashno, shared their lives and dreams as they owned and operated Guay's Market, a cherished grocery store that became a community staple. As time passed, Margaret's passion for helping others evolved, leading her to become a training and employment consultant for those seeking a second career. Her unwavering devotion to the well-being of others did not stop there; after concluding her program, she found joy in mentoring, teaching computer classes, and tirelessly working to support the homeless shelter “Tim’s Place”, where her soothing counsel made a lasting impact.

Margaret was not just a beacon of hope for many; she was the heart of her family. Those who gathered around her festive table remember her famous beef stew, a dish that brought warmth and joy to holiday celebrations. Her love for cooking was just a reflection of the love that she shared—she was always the go-to person, ready with a kind word, a warm meal, and an open heart. Margaret loved driving and going on little excursions and picnics with her close friends which most have predeceased her. Margaret also loved her many family and friend gatherings with meals and endless evening card games as she loved to bring people together. She was so fortunate to have so much love in her life from past to present extended family and friends.

Those closest to her can vividly recall her feisty spirit, her zest for life, and her infectious laughter. She was outgoing, happy, and full of life, embodying the very essence of a caring soul. Margaret had the patience of a saint, dedicating her time and effort to uplift those in need. Fearlessly expressive, she was never shy to say “I love you” to those she cherished, reminding them of the strength of her affection.

In her leisure, Margaret delighted in roller skating, embraced the rhythmic joy of line dancing, and found solace in painting. Her adventurous nature found her exploring on shopping trips with her friends, and reveling in the company of animals, especially her cats, Paisley and her late companion, Precious.

Margaret leaves behind her devoted son, Peter Dashno, and his partner Shawn Collins, who will carry her legacy of love, strength, and service in their hearts. She also leaves a large extended family, and group of friends, whom she cared for tremendously. Though she has departed from our physical world, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her.

As we reflect on Margaret's life, we celebrate a woman who not only lived, but who taught us the immeasurable value of kindness, love, and the beauty of human connection. She will be greatly missed, but her light will remain within us all.
