Obituary of Leo Francis Blair



Milton - Leo "Frank" Blair, 72, died Saturday April 14, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.



Frank was born in Burlington on July 24, 1945, the son of Leo J. and Freda (Trayah) Blair.



On July 24, 1971, he married Lynda Lee Cobb in Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Albans.



Frank served in the Army National Guard, Artillery Division in Vergennes and then the 131st Engineers in Burlington.



He had worked at FAHC, for over 34 years, retiring in 2006, to care for his first granddaughter.



Frank loved to hunt and to fish, he and Lynda especially liked to go to Las Vegas and the casinos. They also liked to spend time with friends Kara and John Tanner.



He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family was most important in his life and he treasured them every moment.



In addition to his loving wife Lynda, Frank is survived by his son Lee Blair and his daughter Laurie Bachand and her husband Jeremy, all of Georgia, and by his granddaughters Grace Caroline and Gillian Leah Bachand, who were the apple of his eye.



Frank is also survived by his brother Paul (Sue) Blair of Hinesburg, his niece Paula (Dennis) Grigsby, whom he thought of as a sister and his nieces Sherri (Mickey) McGuire and Jodi (Terry) White and his nephews Robert (Judy) Draper and Travis Blair, his brother-in-law Charles Draper and his four legged shadow, Poppy, who was inseparable with Frank.



Frank was predeceased by his parents, his stepfather Kenneth Carpenter, his sisters Corrine Draper and Dorothy Veronese.



He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.



Frank's family would like to thank all of the VNA Hospice nurses, especially Betsy Lyons and Penny Norful, for the excellent care given Frank during his illness.



Memorial contributions in Frank's memory may be made to the Franklin County Animal Rescue, 30 Sunset Meadows, St. Albans, VT 05478 or the VNA Hospice, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446.



Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 19th, 2018 from 4-7pm with a service held at 6:30pm in the Minor Funeral Home in Milton.
