Katherine Ella Tobin, a cherished soul whose life was marked by spunk, love, and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at her residence in Milton, Vermont, surrounded by the warmth and presence of her loving family. Born on December 9, 1932, in Burlington, Vermont, Katherine’s journey was one of grace, dedication, and heartfelt joy, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate with those who knew her.

Katherine’s career was a tapestry woven with determination and care. She embraced many roles at General Electric, balancing her professional endeavors with her profound commitment as a homemaker. Her true passion, however, was her family; it was the cornerstone of her life, and her love for them was the light that guided her every day. Those who had the privilege of knowing Katherine remember her spunky spirit, her infectious zest for life, and the deep care she bestowed upon her loved ones. Family was everything to Katherine, and she made sure that every moment spent with them was infused with warmth, laughter, and love.

She was a collector of many things, each piece a reflection of her unique personality and vibrant spirit. Her old-school country music was a constant melody in her home, with Elvis Presley holding a special place in her heart. Cooking for her family was not just a task but a labor of love that brought joy to her and those gathered around her table. Additionally, Katherine found great satisfaction in her involvement with the Milton Arrowhead Senior Center, dedicating herself to this community endeavor with the same passion she had for her family. She enjoyed her time camping and she very much enjoyed her time at the casino.

Katherine’s life was not only defined by her roles but also by the memories she created—memories filled with love and a joyous embrace of life’s simple pleasures. She was a loving matriarch, a steadfast friend, and a beacon of family unity.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Dawn Hamlin and her husband Tim, and Edward Tobin her daughter in law Vicki Tobin; her siblings, Victor Burbo and his wife Deborah and Helen Terhune; seven grandchildren, Chad Tobin and his fiancé Karly Dusablon, Tamara Tobin and her partner Jeremy Bigelow, Allison Corriveau and her husband Alex, Cullen Tobin, Elliot Tobin, Maddie Tobin, and Kylie Taylor and twelve great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy of love and resilience. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
