Kaaren Y. Foss, 78, of South Burlington, Vermont, and more recently Bradenton, Florida, passed away August 17, 2020, with her family in her heart. She was born to the late Neils Neilson and Dorcus Hill Young, April 24th 1942, in Glens Falls, New York. Kaaren graduated from Rock Point School in 1960. She married the late George Calvin "Buzz" Foss in 1962, and they lived together in South Burlington for many years. Buzz as a Phys Ed teacher at Essex Middle School, and Kaarie as a secretary at G.B Rude Associates in Shelburne. Kaarie is survived by her son George Gregory Foss, and his wife Erin Michelle Longworth of Milton, and her brother George Choquette and his wife Margaret K. Bradley of California. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Phillip Longworth Foss, George Colton Foss, and Ryan Longworth Foss . Kaarie was predeceased by her loving husband in 1984 while on an extended family vacation in Italy. Kaaren was an accomplished seamstress, home cook, and loving Mother to her only son George Gregory. Even through several life-changing hardships such as losing the full use of her right arm and leg in 1972, and the untimely death of her husband in 1984. She always had food on the table and pickles in the pantry. She was a one-armed whiz on a sewing machine. She could make anything you could think of: curtains, shirts, Christmas decorations, you name it. She created for her son many intricate and downright silly Halloween costumes through the years. Her greatest gift to the world was her fortitude, her generosity, and her smile. A celebration of life will take place in the Minor Funeral Home on November 6th at 10 AM to be followed with the burial at Pleasant View Cemetery in Morrisville. The family insists that people make donations in support of breast cancer research, in lieu of sending flowers.
