Joyce Flanders, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2023, in Morrisville. Born on August 12, 1925, in Johnson. Joyce spent her entire career as a healthcare worker. She was a loving and caring person.
Joyce was a family-oriented person who cherished gatherings with her loved ones. Her warm and inviting home was always open to friends and family. Known for her sewing skills, she dedicated countless hours to stitching and hemming clothing for her loved ones. Furthermore, she delighted in baking delicious chocolate chip cookies that brought smiles to the faces of her grandchildren.
Nature held a special place in Joyce's heart. She had a green thumb when it came to tending to plants and vegetables. Spending time outdoors was a joy for her, especially when she had the chance to observe deer and birds in their natural habitat.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hattie (Whitcomb) and William Patch and her husband, William Flanders, Sr. and her son William Flanders Jr., as well as three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by two daughters: Carol Parsons (Robert) of Hyde Park, and Colleen Flanders of Stowe, daughter-in-law Kristi Flanders of Morrisville. Joyce also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Kimberly (Brent), Kristina, Kristen (Josh), Karen (Bernard), Katrina (Jeremy), Will (Jen), and David. In addition to being blessed with loving grandchildren, Joyce cherished ten great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Kai, Kara, Katie, Lillian, Bennie, Evelyn, Maddux, Mia, and Emma.
Friends and family are invited to attend the services honoring Joyce's life. A viewing will take place on December 21, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center located at 237 US-7, PO Box 113 in Milton, VT. A Mass will be held on December 22, 2023, at 1:00PM at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at 301 Brooklyn St in Morrisville. Burial will take place on June 1,2024 at 11am in Jedediah Hyde Cemetery.
