Together, they worked on the Bourdeau family farm, where he learned the values of hard work, dedication, and loyalty—principles that shaped his character throughout his life.

After graduating from high school, Joe proudly served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. Following his military service, he dedicated over 30 years to Frito Lay, where he exemplified the same commitment and diligence that he carried from his upbringing.

Joe’s warm spirit and unwavering generosity touched the lives of many, making him a beloved figure in his community.

Family meant everything to Joe. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 57 years, Hazel Porter Bourdeau, along with his loving children: Dawna DeMar and her husband Ron, Diane Hallenbeck and her husband Richard, Kristie Martell, Mike Frechette and his partner Colleen Anderson, and Joseph Bourdeau and his partner Kayse Machia.

Joe is also survived by his sister, Marion Hill, and his brothers, Andrew Bourdeau, Michael Bourdeau, and Lambert Bourdeau; he was predeceased by his brother Robert Bourdeau. Joe and Hazel were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought tremendous joy to his life. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, several of whom were especially close and held a significant place in his heart.

Joe will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and immeasurable love for those around him. His legacy of kindness and dedication will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
