Joan Marie Zimmerman (Vest), 83 of St. Albans, Vermont, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. She was born on November 16, 1938 in Jonesville, Vermont; a daughter of the late Herbert and Bernice (Lacillade) Vest. On June 28, 1959 in Burlington, Vermont, she was united in marriage to the late Daniel A. Zimmerman of Everett, PA. She is survived by three sons: Terry L. Zimmerman married to Diana, Clermont, FL; Ronald A. Zimmerman married to Wendy (Sweet), South Hero, VT; and Charles E. Zimmerman married to Christina (Monkres), Odenton, MD; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters Natalie Ashton, Merritt Island, FL and Carole Gurule married to Ray, Sun Lakes, AZ. She was preceded in death by the following siblings: James Vest, Marilyn Begins (Vest), and Marjorie Cobb (Vest). After graduation, she was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company in Burlington, VT and Miami, FL. She was a supportive Air Force wife and lived in many places while her husband served including Ethan Allen AFB, Vermont, KI Sawyer in Michigan, Plattsburgh AFB in New York, Homestead AFB in Florida, Ramstein AFB in Germany and Dover AFB in Delaware. She particularly enjoyed the family's time in Germany and would often speak of adventures while in Europe. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, coins and working on puzzles with friends and family. She enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park Bedford, PA on Thursday, February 17 at 1pm.
