Jeffrey Murdock, born on December 28, 1951, in Utica, New York, peacefully passed away on May 6, 2026, at the McClure Miller Respite House, with his loving wife by his side. His journey through life was marked by a wealth of experiences and a heart full of devotion, especially toward his family and community.

Jeffrey's early years were shaped by a deep connection to the outdoors, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. He cherished working in his yard, feeding the birds, and planting flowers, activities that reflected his gentle spirit and love for nature.

His career path was as diverse as his interests; he pursued many different types of careers, each unique to his curiosities and passions at the time.

Jeffrey earned a bachelor's degree from Plattsburg State University, an achievement that laid the foundation for his future endeavors. Yet, among all his achievements, he often expressed that his proudest accomplishment was becoming a father. To his children, Thomas and Zachary Murdock, he was not only a father but a steadfast guide and an enthusiastic playmate. In their youth, he was constantly outside with them, sharing laughter and adventures under the open sky. His playfull nature was extended to the neighborhood children, who were always welcomed into his world of fun and friendship.

Though Jeffrey often wore a serious look, those who knew him well understood that beneath that exterior was a true jokester, quick with a smile and a warm hello for everyone he met. His personality was a blend of humor and kindness that left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.

Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Kelly Soule Murdock, and his devoted children, Thomas Murdock and his spouse Lain, and Zachary Murdock. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Jim Murdock, Priscilla Gonyea and her husband Gary, Valerie Murdock, Kevin Murdock and his wife Doreen, along with eight nieces and nephews who carry forward his legacy of love and community. He is also survived by his father in law Butch Soule, and brother in law Dave Soule.

He was predeceased by his parents, Nellie and James Russell Murdock, his brother Rob Murdock, his brother-in-law David Littlefield, and his mother in law Lynn Soule whose memories live on in the hearts of those left behind.

Jeffrey Murdock’s life was filled with love, family, and the simple joys found in nature and shared moments. He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know him.
