Obituary of Jean Come Thibault

Essex Junction, Jean Come Thibault, 90 of Essex passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Providence in Winooski.

Jean was born August 7, 1927 in Colchester the son of the late Felicien and Marie Ange Marcotte Thibault. On May 6, 1950 he married Jacqueline Marie Hamel in Winooski.

Jean was raised on a farm in Colchester where we has actively involved in farming as a child. After marriage, he moved to Essex with his wife Jackie where they purchased and operated a working dairy farm for the next 17 years. When it came time for a change, he then entered the construction field where he remained until his retirement from Fletcher Allen maintenance department.

Jean stayed active in the community as a member of the Elks Club, and regularly donating blood to the Red Cross, beyond the point of receiving his 10 gallon pin. On any given Sunday, Jean could be found at Holy Family Catholic Church where he served as an usher. Any other day, he would be seen walking around Essex.

As anyone who knew him knows, Jean's greatest passion was his garden. He also enjoyed local news, politics, watching the History Channel, WWF, and Judge Judy. Jean would freely offer advice or share his opinion whether you asked, or not.

Jean is survived by his wife, Jacqueline who currently resides at Our Lady of Providence and their children; Diane Deforge and her husband, Paul of Essex, Ann Riley and her husband Dave of Essex, Bob Thibault of Burlington, Patricia Demello and her husband, Lorenzo of San Diego, CA and Mark Thibault of Milton; Seven brothers and six sisters and his Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren.

As per family wishes, there will be no immediate funeral services, however a Mass will be celebrated later in the spring at a time to be announced. Jean's family expresses their deepest gratitude to the VNA, Essex Rescue, and the entire staff at Our Lady of Providence.
