Jean Diane LaFromboise, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the University of Vermont Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 19, 1953, in Montpelier, Vermont, Jean's bright spirit and warm heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Jean's journey through life was marked by resilience and a dedication to those she loved. She ran her own daycare for eight years before embarking on a rewarding career at Bio-Tek Instruments where she was adored by many friends and brought her expertise and enthusiasm to the company for over 32 years. Alongside her husband, Francis LaFromboise, with whom she shared 54 wonderful years of marriage, Jean proudly owned "The Island Hub" for 13 years, further establishing her deep roots in the community.
Jean was a woman of unparalleled humor and grace. She was not only beautiful on the outside but radiated kindness on the inside. Her profound love for her grandchildren was evident to all, and she cherished each moment spent working alongside her daughter, Allison, and doting on her granddaughters. Her laughter and caring nature will be sorely missed, as she always prioritized others' needs above her own.
In her leisure time, Jean found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Over the years she enjoyed camping, dining out, indulging in shopping trips, and workday lunches with her daughter and grand daughters. Jean was known for her love of cooking, often whipping up meals that brought friends and family together, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. She also took delight in visits to the casino, where she created many fun stories with loved ones.
Jean held a special place in her heart for her four-legged grandchildren, her hummingbirds and pet chipmunks, who brought her immense joy and companionship. Her most proud accomplishments are her family and her ability to forge strong connections within her community. Which showcased her warm heart and good rapport with those around her.
Jean is survived by her husband, Francis, her daughters Maryann Cline and her husband David, Allison Mason, and Frances Cameron; her five granddaughters, Amanda, Taylor, Ashley, Sarah, and Samantha; and her four great-grandchildren, Angel-Mae, Avah-Mae, Jonny, and Dakota. She also leaves behind her siblings, Catherine Machia, George Lamphere, Sean Lamphere, and Matthew Lamphere, and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is also survived by her devoted friend and caregiver, Sheila Bennett and longtime family friends Suzey Devoid George Core (Sky), Kelly Bessette, Mikaela Sykas and Laurenzo Tanner.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Catherine Hamlin and Harold Lamphere; and her siblings, Gail Prim and William Lamphere.
