Jan Stuart Brooks

It is with great sadness that the family of Jan Brooks SR, announce his passing. Jan, 65, passed away on October 4, 2021, after a sudden illness in his home in Milton, VT. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Jan managed his illness with strength, grace and dignity. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his loving family. Jan was born on November 20, 1955 , to Ned Dunagan and Virginia Brooks. Jan began his career in the automotive industry where he went on to become a certified Master Technician, specializing in Imports and Motorcycle repairs. Jan moved around to many different states over his life including New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Oregon and finally settling in Vermont. He shared his love for life and passion for engines with all that he met. Over the years he owned several businesses as a Master Technician he took pride in his work and every customer was a friend. Upon his last move to Vermont he was employed for several years at Wilkins North Harley-Davidson, he then moved on to work at Jenkins Auto Repair where he could be found listening to his favorite music as he worked. Jan was an inspiration to so many with his strength and integrity he gave of himself openheartedly lifting those in need, he was a foundation of loyalty and support, hardworking, honest and loving. He had the heart and drive of 100 men and was a hero to many. Jan will be lovingly remembered by his wife Sherri Brooks, his six children: Becky Brooks, Sonia Craft, Deanne Fowler, Steven Mullins, Jan Brooks II, Seth Brooks, grandchildren: Christopher, Kelsea, Andrea, Madison, Chloe, Josselynn, Arron, Molly, Piper, Alex, Jordan, Percy and his great grandchildren: Halli-Anna, James and Lincoln. Jan will also be remembered by his mother Virginia Brooks, his sisters and brothers: Sandy Morris, Steve Morris, Mark Brooks, Lorri Wertz, Heidi Brooks and all of his nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in passing by his father Ned Dunagan and sister Jill Brooks. The Family will hold a private celebration of life for Mr. Jan Brooks. A special thank you to the Caregivers at Community Hospice in Milton for their loving care and support during his final days.
