James Claude Rice, bid farewell to the world on February 22, 2024. His passing at McClure-Miller Respite House marked the end of a life filled with remarkable achievements and cherished memories.

Born in Presque Isle, Maine, on May 16, 1959, James led a fulfilling life that touched the hearts of many. His educational journey culminated in earning his Masters Electrician License, showcasing his dedication to continuous learning and growth.

For those who knew Jim, an   infectious smile and a twinkle in his eye, meant there was a joke or sarcasm coming. James had a knack for bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. His witty sense of humor never failed to lighten the mood and uplift those around him. Whether it was cracking jokes or sharing anecdotes, James had a way of making everyone feel at ease.

Outside of his professional endeavors, James found solace in various hobbies and interests. He particularly enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing or capturing moments of wildlife through his lens. An avid sports enthusiast, he took pleasure in following the Cowboys, NASCAR, the Red Sox, and the Montreal Canadiens "Habs." His favorite sporting events were not professional athletes but rather his grandchildren’s sporting events.

In his final moments, James was surrounded by his loving family and friends , finding comfort in their presence as he peacefully passed away.

Jimbo leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his partner Amy Sayah; children Katie Roussin and her husband Mike of Fairfax, Michael J. Rice and his partner Jenna Stone; stepchildren Alexis Noel and her fiance Ryan Ogiela and James Noel; siblings Pam Myers, Deb Martin, Judith Rice Jane Daly, and JoAnn Daly. He was predeceased by his parents Martin Rice and Patricia Rice, along with his sister Kerry Rice and brother Michael Rice.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024,1PM- 4PM  at Milton Eagles Club in Milton, Vermont. This gathering will serve as a tribute to James' life well-lived—a time to honor his memory and recount the impact he had on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may have departed from this world, James' spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him dearly.
