Milton

Irene "Pat" Dennis peacefully passed away on October 21, 2023, in Colchester. She was surrounded by her loving family and the wonderful care of the McClure Miller Respite House. Pat was born on March 10, 1933, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Pat dedicated over forty years of her life to the Lake Champlain Transportation Company where she worked tirelessly. It was during her time there that her family members have fond memories of her. In addition to her successful career, Pat had a wide range of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, cooking for family and friends, music, and was an avid reader of many genres including love and war. Her passion for work, creativity, especially with Christmas, and family was evident throughout her life. Let's not forget her love for clothes and her QVC.

Pat will always be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering dedication to her family, her zest for life and especially her infectious laugh. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving children: David Dennis and his wife Carolyn, Vanessa Lavigne and her husband Scott, Janie Hall, Glenn Dennis and his wife Christy, Rodney Dennis and his wife Michele, and Karen Dennis. Pat was a cherished grandmother to Nina and her husband Brian, Danielle and her husband Colin, Eric and his wife Amy, Scott and his fiancé Natalia, Rachel, Stephen, Kyle and his wife Jordan, Brent and his wife Kaylee, Devon, Carter, and Alexis. She also leaves behind fifteen great grandchildren: Ava, Hailey, Joseph, Matthew, Gabrielle, Rylie, Kenna, Jayda, Tucker, Pierce, Austin, Adrianna, Blake, Kolby, and Elias. Pat’s family was a source of immense pride and joy for her, and she loved them dearly. She is also survived by her two siblings Ronald Donley and his wife Sandra, and Doreen Hadley. Pat is also survived by her best friend Jeanne Marshall.

Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert Joseph Dennis Jr in March of 1996. She and her husband built their life in Malletts Bay. Upon his passing, she moved to Milton, where she resided with her daughter Vanessa and her family for over 25 years.  Although Pat and Al are no longer with us, their love continues to live on in the hearts of their family and friends. She was also predeceased by her parents Arthur Donley and Anne (Bourne) Donley.
