Obituary of Gordon William Gennrich D.D.S.

Dr. Gordon William Gennrich, DDS passed away at his home in Milton on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the age of 60. Gordon was born January 31, 1958 in Saginaw, Michigan, to Ferdinand William and Shirley Augusta (Humrich) Gennrich. They, as well as his sister, Wendy Ann Gennrich, preceded him in death.

A graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School in Saginaw, Dr. Gennrich attended Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, majoring in pre-medicine; he then received his Doctorate of Dentistry from the University of Detroit - Mercy School of Dentistry, Detroit, Michigan.

One of Gordon's passions was music, which he expressed by learning to play the drums at a young age and continuing to play through his college years in local bands. He also loved nature, and after getting his doctorate he moved to the beautiful state of Vermont to open his dental practice and start a family. He began his practice in Milton in 1984, and provided dental services until his recent retirement. He cared deeply about his patients and enjoyed making them smile with his unique sense of humor. Dentistry was his passion, and he had a great sense of pride in the level of detail and perfectionism that he put into his work.

Gordon is survived by his son Jesse Gennrich and his partner, Natalia Hryniw; daughter Kayla Rivard and her husband, Ryan Rivard; daughter Alisa Bushey and her husband, David Bushey; grandson Brighton Rivard; the mother of his children Julie Gennrich; his sister Nancy Nelson and her husband, Albert Nelson; sister Diane Tilmann and her partner, Mason Croker; nephew Matthew Tilmann and his wife, Ashley Tilmann; great-niece Harbour Tilmann; three aunts; and many cousins, devoted friends, staff members and patients. Gordon's many talents, his sense of humor, his desire to help people, and his love will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

A wake will be held at Minor Funeral Home in Milton on Thursday, April 12 with visitation from 4:00-7:00pm. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at the United Church of Milton on Saturday, April 14 at 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Community Health Centers of Burlington at www.chcb.org/donate. These donations will help give local families access to health and dental care.
