Gerard F. Bergeron

June 16, 1932 — September 1, 2021

Milton, VT--Gerard F. Bergeron, 89, passed away quietly September 1, 2021 at home. Gerry was born on June 16, 1932 in Farnham, QC, Canada and was the son of the Conrad Bergeron and Rose Eve Grenier. He married Joan Derby on June 27, 1964 at Holy Family Church in Essex Junction. Gerry was from a large Catholic family (9 brothers & sisters) - living in Vermont his entire life and working at IBM, as a quality control technician for 35 years. Family was very important to him - whether it was helping out a family member with a house repair or gathering at a relative's house for a large holiday meal. He loved to putter around the house and the camp - preferring to fix or build things himself using his resourceful ingenuity. Family vacations were mainly spent at camp on Lake Champlain - spending a quiet week or two on the water (no TV!) - hosting family BBQs where Gerry grilled and burned burgers and dogs - no risk of food poisoning when he was at the grill! Once retired, Gerry and Joan escaped Vermont and spent the winter months in Babson Park, Florida for 20+ years - staying in the same cottage on Crooked Lake each year. Gerry loved taking pictures - he always had a camera in hand. He also loved the game of golf - playing it in his younger years with friends and family and watching it on TV in his later years. He is survived by his spouse, Joan of 57 years; his children, Kathy (Richard) Quindley of Middleboro, MA, Mark (Karen) Bergeron of Topsham, ME, Greg Bergeron of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Sam and Adam Quindley, Lucas and Ella Bergeron; his siblings, Helen (Peter) Dolan of Micco, FL, and Rita (Bob) Lee of Canaan. He is predeceased by his father, Conrad Bergeron; mother, Rose Eve Grenier and several siblings - Margaret Bergeron, Conrad Bergeron, Andre Bergeron, Leo Bergeron, John Bergeron, Ida Wood and Edmond Bergeron. The family would like to ask everyone to wear masks regardless of vaccination status - as a precaution to protect us and them from any potential risk. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 6, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Minor Funeral Home in Milton, Vermont. Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, 11:00 AM at St Ann Church, Milton, VT Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations in Gerry's name to the Alzheimer's Association
