So. Hero - Genevieve Edna Straight, 99, died peacefully early Monday morning, April 27, 2020 at the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Genevieve was born on April 5, 1921 in Douglas, MA., the daughter of John and Alexandra (Sadowski) Makowski. She married Robert Straight on June 29th in 1946 in Douglas, MA.
She had worked for over 20 years at the Sandbar Motel with Randy. She loved all of her boys, the 5 R's and all of her grandchildren selflessly. She was generosity embodied and always thought of others before herself.
She met many friends bringing Randy to Summer Special Olympics and his bowling team. She loved Holidays and Birthday which she went all out for and was famous for her lemon meringue pies, apple cake and ham glaze.

Genevieve is survived by her sons Robert Straight and his wife Sue of So. Hero, Richard Straight and his wife Leandra of So. Hero, Ronald Straight and his wife Judith of Alburg, Randy Straight of Sheldon and Rodney Straight and his wife Marie of Berlin. By 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
