Florence Eileen (Terry) Gover, born on July 7, 1934, in Grand Isle, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, with her daughters by her side in St. Albans. Her life, spanning more than nine decades, was a testament to kindness, thoughtfulness, and enduring generosity. Flo or "Peewee" as she was affectionately known, grew up in Grand Isle, VT and was her loving families. First Alice and Ed, then Eliza and Arthur Parizo, then Jessie and Norman Blow. She was adored by her families and shared much love and affection.

Flo graduated from Milton High School in 1954 and married Elmer Gover on June 26,1954 in St. Joseph Church. She had a total of 7 children; Chris Gover, Randall Gover, Sandra Brown, Deborah Johnson, Mary Gover, after raising their 5 children, Kimberly Murray and Marshall Martell, Jr., were adopted into the family, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings, George Terry, Charlie Terry, Brenda Terry, Dolores Gardner, and many nieces and nephews.

 She had a special passion for ceramics, painting Christmas trees that brought joy and beauty into many homes. She loved to play bingo and bowling with her friends. Flo spent many sunsets on the west shore of Grand Isle.

A devoted and generous mother, Florence expressed her love through the care and nourishment of her family. She delighted in preparing large meals that brought people together, taking particular pleasure in baking homemade bread and creating delicious treats for children returning home after school. Her kitchen was also a place of activity during canning season, where she found satisfaction in preserving the fruits of her labors for family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Elmer, and by her foster children Kimmie and Marshall, her siblings Robert Terry, Marie Terry, Eileen Terry, Patricia Terry, and Phyllis Gardner.

A Mass in celebration of Florence Eileen Gover’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on July 31, 2026, at Saint Josephs Church, located at 185 US-2, Grand Isle, VT 05458. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place at Grande Isle Cemetery. 

Florence’s legacy is one of warmth, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, but her memory, shaped by her generous heart and loving spirit, will remain an enduring inspiration to all who knew her.
