A devoted community member, Randy dedicated 32 years of service to the Milton Fire Department, retiring as Chief in 2003 and also found joy in coaching his daughters’ softball team. His commitment to his community extended to many organizations, where he often held leadership roles. He was an avid snowmobiler in both Vermont and Canada, dedicated race fan in the early days of Milton’s Catamount Raceway and part of the pit crew for Beaver Dragon, a proud member of VAST (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) and the Vermont State Firefighters Association (VSFA). He was a member of Masonic Seneca Lodge #40 of Milton , earning the 33rd degree, and was also a member of the Green Mountain Chapter #527 National Sojourners. He received his JCI Senatorship in 1969.

Above all, family was central to Randy’s life. He took great pride in family activities, including building a cherished camp in Averill, Vermont, where many special memories were made.

Randy is survived by his two daughters, Stacy L. (Daniel) Contois of Essex, VT, and Heather Cary of Rouses Point, NY; his brother James (Vilma) Cary of Milton VT; two sisters, Darla Burgess of Underhill, VT, and Laurel (Lewis) Zeno of Milton VT; grandchildren Samantha (Nate) Dutil of Rouses Point NY, Shayne (Mary) St. Cyr of Perris CA, Jacob (Grace) Turner of Swanton VT, Taylor St. Cyr (fiance’ John) of D’Iberville MS, Reid Contois of Essex VT, Elise Contois of Essex VT, and Eve (Oliver) Paradee of Jacksonville NC; and great-grandchildren Ophelia, Annabel, Daphne, and Beckett.
