"There is peace even in the storm." --Vincent van Gogh

Erin Elizabeth Stancliffe, 29, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017. She was born on April 16, 1988 to Michael and Sharon (Oakes) Stancliffe in Burlington, VT. She attended Trinity Baptist School and for a time, Bob Jones University. She was on the Dean's list at CCV.

Erin most recently resided in St. Albans, VT with her precious son Calvin.

In 2013, Erin met Brandon Brouillette and together, Erin and Brandon brought Calvin James Brouillette into the world, to everyone's great and continuing pleasure.

From an early age, Erin demonstrated incredible creative talent. She drew, she painted, she made doll clothes, and she even created little story books chronicling the adventures of Katelyn, a precocious young girl who bore some resemblance to Erin's own younger sisters. As an adult, Erin's creativity and artistry never waned. The home she shared with Calvin was filled with artwork; colors, textures, drawings, and all manner of artistic pieces filled their space. Though he was only 3 years old, Calvin was learning from Erin about painting, drawing, and the importance of art. We can only hope he shares his mother's love and vision for creating beautiful things.

In addition to her son Calvin, Erin leaves behind her father Michael and stepmother Cassandra Donegan of New Haven, VT, her mother Sharon White and stepfather Tim of Hinesburg, VT, Calvin's father, Brandon Brouillette of St. Albans and Brandon's family. Erin also leaves behind three younger sisters: Caty of Hinesburg, Sara of Winooski, and Becca of Hinesburg.

Her second family, the Oblaks, also miss her dearly. Erin's Aunt Sylvia was more than an aunt to her; she was a friend and confidante. Erin's Uncle Brock and cousins Jacob, Gabrielle, Nick, Jonny, and Anna were beloved and important figures in her life.

Erin was part of a very, very large family of uncles, aunts, grandparents, great-aunts and great-uncles, cousins, and second-cousins. All miss her deeply already.Erin was a free spirit who lived life according to her own rules. We believe Erin would have hated the idea of a traditional funeral service, so in her honor we've arranged a celebration of her life that will incorporate her art, writings, and items from her home that represent who she was, displayed in the format of an art exhibit. We invite all who knew Erin to drop in, visit, view her work, and reflect on her life. Though there will surely be some sadness, we hope that overall, people come away with good and happy feelings about Erin and her legacy. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the college fund the family has set up for Calvin at the VT Federal Credit Union in care of Calvin James Brouillette, c/c VTFCU, 84 Pine Street, Suite 100, Burlington, VT 05401. Paper checks or electronic checks are accepted.

The Celebration will be held on November 11, 2017 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the offices/gallery of KSV, 212 Battery St., Burlington, VT. The entrance & parking is available in back of the building as well as at Perkins Pier across the street.
