Obituary of Doris L Fries


Essex - Doris L. "Lila" Fries, Elizabeth Thibault, 64, died unexpectedly on Monday September 21, 2020 at her home in Essex.
Doris was born on December 12, 1955 in Burlington, the daughter of Laurent and Lillian (Marcotte) Rainville.
She graduated from So. Burlington High School in 1974.
Doris received her Associate's degree from Champlain College. Early in her career she was a paralegal for the VT AG's office, an advocate for Battered Women's Services, a counselor for the Head Start program and most recently she worked in the Essex School system. Sewing was her lifelong passion. Doris will be best known for her abundant kindness, compassion, faith and her beautiful smile.

Doris married William Fries on August 5, 2005.
In addition to her husband Bill of Essex, Doris is survived by her children Joshua Thibault and partner Gregg Krantz of Philadelphia, Sarah Thibault and partner Scott Lemieux of Winooski, Travis Thibault and partner Amber Schreiner of Colchester and Thomas Thibault and wife Nealee of Barre. She is also survived by Bill's sons Timothy Fries and his wife Danielle and Matt Fries and his wife Jennifer, all of Colorado, by her grandchildren Lucas, Levi and a granddaughter due in December, and by her brothers and sisters Michael Rainville and his wife Lynn of Phoenix, AZ, Roger Rainville and his wife Claire of Alburgh, Jerry Rainville of Colchester, Monica Bullis of Fort Myers, FL, Jackie Rainville of Alburgh and Rene Rainville of No. Hero and by several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held Saturday, September 26th. In lieu of flowers or donations, please perform an act of kindness in her honor.
