Saint Albans, VT--Dennis (Denny) A. Rattee, 78, passed away December 31, 2021 at his home. Denny, a Naval Vietnam Veteran, was born on September 3, 1943 in Randolph, VT, to Dennis Rattee Sr. and Hazel (Cary). He loved life, family, food, and helping others. He demonstrated this personally and professionally. His career in the culinary field spanned restaurants, the federal prison system, and nursing homes. Affectionately known as Uncle Denny, he touched many lives with his open home and heart. There was always enough room in the car, in the toboggan, at the table, or on his couch. He leaves a legacy of a life well lived for multiple generations to carry on. Denny will be remembered fondly by: His life partner Helen Potvin; his children, Darin Rattee and Shawn Reed (Jennifer); his sister Beverly Pouliot; his extended family of Heather, Billy, Chase, and Sadie King; Paige, Jay, Norah, and Carson Stryker, Ashton Davis, Aiden Rattee; Ronda and Serena Root; Kim and Helen Parizo; Therisa, Norman, Blaine, and Linda; as well as other nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Joyce Gordon, Linda Rattee, Alfred Rattee and Carl Adams. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Vermont Kidney Association are encouraged P.O. Box 502 Shelburne, VT 05482 Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022 4:00PM to 5:30PM with a funeral service beginning at 5:30 PM
