Obituary of David Michael Wires

Milton - David M. Wires, 59, died on Thursday September 26, 2019 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

David was born on November 17, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio, to Harold Ora Wires and Dorene Lavonne (Sears) Wires.

Dave grew up in Brasher Falls, NY, working on his stepfather's dairy farm. He graduated from St. Lawrence Central High School. After attending North Central Technical College in both Mansfield, OH, and Canton, NY, he went to work for IBM, Essex Junction, VT, in photolithography equipment maintenance for 22 years. He also taught math for IBM for a short time. He later worked in delivery for Conway CCX and FED EX, and then established his own handyman business for a short time followed by a general maintenance position for Cathedral Square. For the last 8 years Dave had been employed by Perrigo (PBM Nutritionals, LLC) in Milton, VT, as an Instrument Technician.

David was a member of the Eagles Club in Milton and coached hockey and lacrosse thru the Milton Youth Assoc. He was a member of the GE Hockey league.

He is survived by his son Jordan Wires of Essex, his brother Dick Wires and his wife Carol of Columbus, Ohio, his sister Bobbie Couron and her husband Jim of Drasco, Arkansas. He was predeceased by a sister, Marsha, his parents, Harold Wires and Dorene (Sears) Wires Curtis, and his stepfather Henry Curtis.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 from 4-7 pmat the Minor Funeral Home in Milton. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following visiting hours at 7 pmat the Minor Funeral Home.

David's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all of his close friends and coworkers at Perrigo who have been a constant and loving support to him during this past year. Dave spoke often of your unrelenting friendship, the monthly get togethers for foosball, the countless services you provided during his ill health, and especially your frequent visits and gifts.
