Daniel “Danny” Joseph Denison

September 20, 1938 — October 12, 2025

Milton

Daniel “Danny” Joseph Denison, 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Milton on October 12, 2025. He was born in Rome, New York, on September 20, 1938, the son of Albert and Irene (Smith) Denison.

Danny spent many years working for Harden Furniture as a webber before finishing his career as a long-haul truck driver. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963 during the Vietnam War. In addition to his full-time work, Danny volunteered as a firefighter, coached little league and EMT and even taught first aid to students.

On October 22, 1982, Danny married the love of his life, Eva LaRay Durfey, in Rome, New York. Together they shared countless adventures, from riding their motorcycles across the country, reaching as far as the Grand Canyon, to attending the annual “Elvis Weekend” in Memphis each August. They built a life grounded in love, family, and faith. Danny’s faith deepened even more when he and Eva were baptized together in Florida, a moment that brought him great peace and strength.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife, Eva Denison; his children, Shawne Denison Klun, Cynthia Douglas Cook, Candace (Bob Pettinelli) Douglas, and Chadwick (Gina Douglas); grandchildren, Harrison Klun, Hannah Klun, Tara Douglas (Noel Liddy), Cory Sauer, Trevor Sauer, Jennifer Pettinelli and her fiance Sean Perrault, Julia Pettinelli and Shane Sauer; great-grandchildren, Janissa Sauer, Cash Sauer, Olivia Nious and her special friend Tervon Spearman, and Nairobi Klun; brother, Richard (Jean) Denison; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly.

He was predeceased by his brothers, Marshall Denison, Jack Denison, and Kenny Denison; his sisters, Marion Robinson, Marilla Vanderhoof, Marilyn Currao, and Mary Denison.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center in Milton, Vermont. A funeral service will immediately follow, led by Pastor B.J. from Redeeming Grace Church in Georgia, Vermont.
