Richford, VT--Cheryl Lee Ploof, 57, passed away April 15, 2021 at St. Albans Health and
Rehab surrounded by her loving family.
Cheryl was born on January 21, 1964 in Montpelier, VT, the Daughter of Michael McCaffrey
and Barbara (MacPhie) Lombardo.
She married Donald on October 1, 1994.
Cheryl grew up in Methuen, Massachusetts. She graduated from Northlands Job Corp In
Vergennes VT. When she was young her mother purchased Cheryl a Pinto Horse, this is
where she grew a very passionate connection with horses .She started out barrel racing
horses. Her life revolved around training and riding horses, including teaching her children
and grandchildren the respect and nature of the beautiful animal. Cheryl and her husband
owned a farm with horses where Cheryl acquired her second love of her life "Major Skip
Jack", the horse she had always dreamt of. Cheryl also served as an EMT in Moriah New
York for several years, following she became a security guard for Northlands Job Corp for.
She instilled troubled youth with guidance, while keeping them all safe. Later on in life
Cheryl became a caregiver for many years in various aspects of the healthcare industry.
She enjoyed art and crafts, gardening, and loved to fish. One of her most memorable
moments are with her husband Donnie spending time at the cowboy shoots, where they
could dress in cowboy featured clothing and luive like the wild west for a weekend. She
enjoyed riding in the passenger seat of her Donnie's Chevelle as they attended many car
shows. Her love for her grandchildren was unbridled. Cheryl will be missed for her
friendship formed during games of skip-bo and Yahtzee and dancing.
She is survived by: her spouse Donald; her children, Jessica Terry (Michael), of Milton,
Miranda Ploof (Luke), of Milton; her step children Chastity (Ronald) Cardinal, Dawn (Joe)
Laberge; her grandchildren, Brooke, Hunter, Aidan, Paige ,Kiley ,Avalon, Seth, Jacob, Joshua
and Libby ; her great-grandchildren,Tyler, Connor, Stella; her siblings Timothy McCaffrey Sr.,
of NH, Barbara Jean Coates, of NH, and her late brother Billy Bell of Methuen, Mass.
