Charles Dean Palmer, a beloved figure known for his quick wit, warm heart, and enduring kindness, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in St Albans, Vermont, after a period of declining health. Born on July 1, 1951, in Burlington, Vermont, Charles lived a full life, leaving behind a legacy of love, humor, and unwavering support for those fortunate to know him.

Charles’s journey through life was marked by varied experiences and a spirit that touched many. In his early years, he worked in construction, laying the foundation not only for buildings but for lasting friendships and memories. Later, he dedicated himself as a maintenance technician for the Milton Schools, where he became affectionately known as "Uncle Charlie" by the children. His friendly demeanor and genuine care for those around him made him a cherished presence in the community. Beyond his career, Charles was a proud veteran who served his country in the Army, exemplifying commitment and bravery.

Those who knew Charles remember him for his smart aleck comments and playful joking—always ready to engage in teasing head games, yet beneath this exterior was a deeply loving and kind soul. His generosity was boundless; he was the kind of man who would give the shirt off his back to help a friend or neighbor in need.

Charles found joy in the simple pleasures of life: savoring a cold Budweiser, hunting amid the beautiful Vermont wilderness, and taking leisurely rides along the back roads that he so loved. His easy smile and friendly nature drew people in, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime.

He is survived by his siblings Elaine Martin and her husband Joseph, Jean Francis, Peter Palmer and his partner Pam Supernault, Deery Hamelin, Pat Jarvis and her husband Jerry, and Sue Elliot and her husband Ruel. His family and friends will forever cherish his memory as a man of humor, kindness, and great heart.

Charles was preceded in death by his dear parents, Dean Palmer and Ruth Palmer, whose love shaped the man he became.
