Charles Littlefield

August 22, 1939 — February 13, 2021

Charles Littlefield, passed away February 13, 2021 at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, with his loving family and dog, Quincy, by his side. Charlie was born on August 22, 1939 in Burlington, the youngest son of the late Harold Littlefield and Cora(Newton) Littlefield. He married Nancy Beaupre on July 7, 1962 in Milton, Vermont. Charlie grew up on the family farm in Milton, Vermont. Upon graduation from Milton High School in 1957, Charlie joined the United States Navy. During his time in the navy he served on the USS Samuel B Roberts, USS Galveston, USS Hale and USS Soley. Charlie loved being on the water and serving his country. After considering a career in the Navy, Charlie felt called to return to his family. After 25 years of farming alongside Nancy, Charlie began his second career as a school/tour bus driver, a job he referred to as the best job you could ever have. As a tour bus driver for Premier Coach, he was able to travel extensively through the North East, often taking his wife Nancy along for the ride. He especially enjoyed his time driving the Saint Michaels Purple Knight Hockey and Basketball teams. After driving tour bus for many years, he decided to spend more time closer to home. He started working for Mountain Transit, driving bus for High School sports. He formed bonds with many sports teams over the years, not the least of which was the Winooski High School Spartans. Charlie and Nancy were named Spartan's Fans of the Year in 2015-2016. Charles was also a Free and Accepted Mason, Seneca Masonic Lodge, Number 40 in Milton. He held numerous offices in the lodge including Worshipful Master of the Lodge for a total of 3 times. On the state level he was also a Rite Worshipful Past District Deputy Grand Master and a Rite Worshipful Past Grand Junior Deacon with the Grand Lodge in Vermont and was 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Charlie was also a member of the American Legion and Eagles. Along with attending High School sporting events for his beloved Spartans, Charlie enjoyed trips to the Casino with Nancy, deep sea fishing, walking his dog Quincy and his daily 4pm cocktail with Nancy. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by his children, Cindy Latuch of Milton, Kathy MacKrell and her husband Bill of Ashburn, Virginia, Scott Littlefield, of Cambridge, seven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Lauri Ann Littlefield Letourneau, son in law Brian Latuch and his two siblings Harold Littlefield, Jr. and Arlene Towne. A Memorial Visitation will be held on May 28, 2021 in the Funeral Home between the hours of 9:30 and 11:00, with a Masonic Funeral Service at 11:00 AM and burial in Milton Town Cemetery with Military Honors to follow.
