Carolyn Brown, a fiercely loving, and caring person left this world on December 16, 2023. Carolyn's life began on April 10, 1943, in Queens, New York.
As a military spouse to her late husband, Herman C. Brown (Lt. Col. USMC ret.), Carolyn lead an adventurous life. The family moved up and down the East coast. Every place the Browns lived, Carolyn made a home.
Carolyn loved creatures big and small. Her fur baby family was made up of dogs, cats, a horse name Friday and a snake named Julius Squeezer. Her backyard garden became a haven for wildlife and she had a name for every bird , squirrel, or fox that visited.
She was energized and calmed by water. Whether gazing at Lake Champlain, visiting a beach, or going to water aerobics; she kept water in her life and made friends who loved it too. She will be dearly missed by her “pool ladies.”
To her children, Carolyn was a mama bear with a black belt in karate to back it up. Her son Herman C. Brown II (Chief, US Air Force ret.), his wife Monica Tozier-Brown, daughter Beylan Brown, and son Eric Brown carry the love she gave them and her absence will be felt deeply. Her loss will also be felt by the “King clan” to whom Carolyn was a second Mom.
Carolyn also leaves behind her grandchildren: Quinton Tozier, Ryan Brown (Capt. US Air Force) his wife December Dawn, and Nathan Brown. She is survived by her brother Paul Lappner and pre-deceased by her brother Gordon Lappner. They will treasure moments shared with Carolyn.
So many were touched by Carolyn and she will be missed.
In this time of collective grief, we honor Carolyn's memory and celebrate a life well-lived.
