Barbara Helen Williams, a woman cherished for her quiet girlish sense of humor and her loving crafts, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Burlington, Vermont, after a period of declining health. Born on September 24, 1949, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Barbara brought warmth and tenderness into the lives of those around her through her gentle spirit and heartfelt creativity.
Barbara’s life was marked by a dedicated career in office administration, where she contributed much of her professional years. Yet, it was her personal passions that truly defined her presence — she found joy and solace in various types of crafting, particularly knitting and crocheting. Countless baby blankets she lovingly made for friends and coworkers stand as enduring symbols of her generosity and care, offering comfort and joy to new families and loved ones.
Her journey began in Red Bank but took her to many places, including her education at Madrid-Waddington High School in Waddington, New York, where her foundations for kindness and diligence were laid. Throughout her life, Barbara carried a sense of humor that lifted those around her, brightening even the simplest moments with a gentle smile and a twinkle in her eye.
Barbara is survived by her devoted daughter, Misty Williams, and Misty’s husband, Dean Goss, whose lives she deeply touched. Her grandson, Orin Goss, carries forward her legacy of warmth and creativity. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Deborah Trimm, with whom she shared many memories and a close lifelong bond.
Though Barbara’s parents, William Thomas Ryan, Sr. and Dolly LaBombard, and her brother, William Thomas Ryan, Jr., have preceded her in death, her memory remains richly alive in the hearts of her family and friends. Her passing leaves a void deeply felt yet bridged by the love and kindness she imparted so freely.
A burial service to honor Barbara’s life will take place on April 13, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St Joseph Cemetery located on Main Street in Isle Lamotte, Vermont. This gathering will offer family, friends, and all who knew her the chance to celebrate a life beautifully lived—a life that quietly but unmistakably enriched the world.
Barbara Helen Williams will be remembered not only for her administrative diligence or her crafting talents but, most importantly, for the gentle heart that gave these gifts so freely. Her spirit, much like the soft yarns she wove into blankets, wrapped us all in comfort and love. She will be deeply missed but forever treasured in memory.
