Barbara Mae Janes

Williston--Barbara Mae Janes, 92, passed away June 23, 2021 at Mansfield Place in Essex Junction. Barbara was born on May 15, 1929 in Barre, VT, the Daughter of George Delano and Janet (Cookson). She had grown up in the Chelsea, Randolph area on a farm passed down the family through her great grandfather. She attended school in Chelsea and graduated class of 1947. She then attended Burlington Business College. She was employed at the Prudential Insurance Company and later at the Chittenden Trust Company. She married Delford “Bud” Janes on May 11, 1951 in Burlington. During their marriage she had enjoyed many crafts and flowers, and the many family cookouts and boating trips to Grand Isle. Together they enjoyed many trips seeing Vermont, and their trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Bermuda and England, visiting and meeting family members for the first time. She was also a "snowbird" spending winters in Lake Placid, Florida. Barbara was a Secretary at in the family business, Real Estate. She is survived by: her children, Bonnie (Richard) Ryan, of Fletcher, Jeffrey (Karen) Janes, of Arcadia, FL, Greg (Kathy) Janes, of Bakersfield; her many grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her father, George Delano; mother, Janet Delano; sister, Doris Mintz; brother-in-law, Oscar Mintz; brother, David Delano; sister-in-law, Bertha Delano A graveside service will be held on June 30 at 11AM in Hunt Cemetery in Tunbridge.
