With deep sadness and profound love, we announce the passing of Arthur T. Mullen II, “Fatboy” who left this world on August 17, 2026, in Georgia, Vermont at the age of 57. Born November 25, 1968, in Middlebury, VT, Arthur’s presence in the lives of his loved ones was as unforgettable as it was larger than life.
Arthur earned his famous nickname, “Fatboy,” among friends and family—a title always carried with pride, warmth, and a twinkle of good-natured mischief. A true wheeler and dealer, Arthur was a man whose generosity defined him. It was said often that Arthur would give you the shirt off his back, never letting anyone go without, and always going out of his way to make sure those around him had what they needed. His heart, always open and giving, was somehow even bigger than his considerable frame.
He will long be remembered for his uncanny ability to make those around him laugh, ensuring that no visit or conversation ever ended without a smile. Arthur possessed a unique talent for giving everyone in his orbit a special nickname—each one a playful testament to the bond he shared with them.
Cars, especially hot rods, and his beloved Harley Davidson were among Arthur’s greatest passions in life. The love and craftsmanship he poured into these machines reflected the same care and attention he invested in the people he loved. He approached every aspect of life with authenticity and vitality, living each day fast and loud, always in the driver’s seat.
But more than anything, Arthur leaves behind a legacy as one hell of a father—yet, as good as he was in that role, he was, in the hearts of his grandchildren, an even better grandfather. His pride and affection for his grandchildren knew no bounds, and in his company, laughter, mischief, and a sense of adventure always thrived.
Arthur’s love is carried on by those whose lives he touched most deeply. He is survived by his devoted children, Demetra Manning, Shane Manning, and Arthur T. Mullen III, and cherished his baby Wendy A. Mullen. His grandchildren—Wyatt, Danyka, Eli, and Gabriella—will always keep his memory close, and his stories alive. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Phillip Mullen, Thomas Mullen, and big Wendy Mullen.
Arthur is reunited in peace with those who went before him: his brother, James Russin; his sisters, Patricia Mullen and Sheila Russin; and his beloved parents, Arthur Mullen and Theresa A. Russin and his niece Alice Russin.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Arthur’s extraordinary life during visitation hours on August 26, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a reception to follow in the Minor Funeral and Cremation Center, located at 237 Route US-7, Milton, VT 05468.
Arthur T. Mullen II, our Fatboy, will be deeply missed. His kindness, humor, and larger-than-life spirit will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
