Annette Nadeau

March 4, 1946 — March 10, 2024

Annette Marcelle Nadeau passed peacefully at The Manor in Morrisville, Vermont, on March 10, 2024.   She was the daughter of Albert S. and Anita M. Nadeau, born on March 4, 1946, as the third of nine children.

She attended the University of Vermont with a major in biology and later did coursework at Johnson State College, while also working in the college library.  She then went on to work at the Nadeau Sand and Gravel family business and later enjoyed employment at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont.  Her varied interests included tutoring students in mathematics and science, traveling to Saint Anne’s Shrine on Lake Champlain and to the Maine coast, downhill skiing at Smugglers’ Notch and cross-country skiing in the local area.   She was also a lover of music and enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting.  Walking in the woods was another favorite pastime, and she liked the opportunity to share with fellow walkers her knowledge of plants and animals encountered along the way.

Throughout her life, Annette was devoted to her Roman Catholic faith. As a communicant of St. John the Apostle Parish, she served as the church’s organist for many years.

Annette was predeceased by her parents and her brother Andre. Survivors include brothers Arthur (Mary) of Hartford, Armand of Vernon, Adrian (Bonnie), Albert (Linda) and Alex (Lisa) all of Johnson, a brother Aime (Barbara) of Hyde Park, a sister Aline (Jon) of Johnson, a sister-in-law Sally of Essex Junction, numerous nephews and nieces and stepmother Jean of Essex.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Morrisville on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, beginning at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow in the spring.  Minor Funeral Home of Milton is overseeing the arrangements.

Annette’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at The Manor for providing their sister with a comfortable home and excellent, compassionate care during her residency.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to one of the following:  All Saints Catholic Academy in Morrisville, Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Morrisville or Lamoille Home Health and Hospice in Morrisville.
