Amanda J. Montani, born on July 21, 1983, in Burlington, Vermont, passed away suddenly on March 30, 2026, in South Hero. Her unexpected departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Raised in Vermont, Amanda graduated from South Burlington High School in 2000 and took one semester at the University of Vermont. Though her time in formal education was brief, her life was rich with the experiences and relationships she nurtured. Amanda was also proud of her decade-long career at Hannaford supermarkets where she formed bonds with many co-workers and became a pillar they could call upon. She found immense joy and peace in her hobbies, especially her love for horses, and reading which brought her comfort and happiness throughout her years.
Amanda was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend. She was the cherished mother of three daughters: Giana, Kaelyn, and Everley, who stood as her proudest accomplishments and the bright lights of her life. Amanda’s enduring love and dedication to her daughters defined her identity, revealing the depth of her character and unconditional affection.
Amanda was born into a family that deeply influenced her journey. She was the loving daughter of Audrey Montani, who survives her, and the late Anthony L. Montani Sr. She is mourned by her brother Dan Montani, who shares in the pain of losing not only Amanda but also their brother, Anthony L. Montani Jr., who preceded her in death. Amanda also leaves behind the love of her life with whom she spent over 25 years with and father to her girls Adam Winters. Amanda’s extended family includes several aunts, uncles, and many cousins, all of whom will carry her memory close to their hearts.
Though Amanda has left this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her daughters and all who were touched by her kindness, grace, and strength. Her legacy is one of love, joy, and unwavering commitment to those she held dear.
Though Amanda’s journey ended too soon, her memory will forever remain a beacon of love and light for her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, eternally remembered, and forever cherished.
A Celebration of Life in Amanda’s honor will be held on May 16, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Arrowhead Senior Citizen Center, Inc., located at 46 Middle Road, Milton, VT. This gathering offers a chance for family, friends, and community members to come together, share memories, and celebrate a life that, though far too brief, was filled with love and meaning.
Amanda’s family wishes to remind all who honor her memory to embrace the compassion she embodied. While they have requested no flowers, they suggest that donations might be made to a local Humane Society or the ASPCA in recognition of Amanda’s fondness for animals.
