Colchester- Aaron D. Sterling, 71, passed away on May 15, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Aaron was born January 18, 1955, in Burlington, the son of Richard and Doris (Leffort) Sterling.

He married Susan on December 4, 1976, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Burlington. He attended Burlington High School doing the building trades.

He left high school and started working at Hazeletts where he retired in 2007. He didn't really retire though. He started a business cutting trees and doing lawn work and plowing in between helping all his friends and family. He was meticulous and liked spending time with family and friends,especially hunting and fishing.

Aaron survived by his granddaughter Heidi Sterling of Colchester. His siblings: Harley (Diane) Sterling of Georgia, Robert (Becky) Sterling of Champlain, NY; Michael (Dory) Sterling of Grand Isle, Pamela (Gill) Brigante of Colchester, and Harry Sterling of Underhill, and a lot of special friends that are too many to list.

He is predeceased by his spouse Susan (Basiliere) Sterling; His son Ernie ("Cricket") Sterling; Father Richard Sterling, Mother Doris (Leffort) Sterling, niece Samantha Sterling nephew Justin Sterling, Niece Samantha Sterling and Niece in law Nicole Sterling.

A very special thanks to the team at UVM and to Dr. Wendy Conway, his neighbor for helping him day or night when he had emergencies.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday May 26th, 2026, from 10:00AM- 12:00PM in the Minor Funeral Home and Cremation Center with a committal service to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington, VT.
